Job Description

We are looking for a candidate with a passion to support the creation of new rubber products for various current and future markets. We currently serve the recreational, industrial, agricultural and defense vehicule market. You will participate in defining our products by carrying out analyzes, simulations and audits in order to improve our way of doing things in product design and development. You will be part of the design engineering team and be led by Martine, the supervisor. You are expected to work with the method, quality and production groups. What to expect:
  • Participate in the definition of customer needs and analyze specifications.
  • Identify and assess the technical risks of projects, define the assumptions and engineering work to be carried out and propose different methods and approaches to manage these risks.
  • Perform engineering, design, calculations and simulations, advise and guide the team towards technical solutions, according to best practices.
  • Define technical solutions, carry out and approve plans and specifications for products and sub-components.
  • Define physical test, laboratory and simulation experiment plans to validate hypotheses, both in the context of product design and in improving product design and development techniques.
  • Monitor and document engineering work and plans and specifications according to company processes and according to OIQ good documentary practices. Issue appropriate reports and documents to build the knowledge base of the company and improve ways of doing design and product development.
  • Check deliverables, documentation and compliance with the product design and development process.

Job Description


What we are looking for:
  • Degree in mechanical engineering and member of the OIQ.
  • Have good experience in a similar role and preferably in the manufacturing field.
  • Specialty or experience in vibrations, signal processing and finite element simulations
  • Technical knowledge in defining technical product drawings, plans and specifications, tolerancing according to manufacturing processes and geometric tolerances.
  • Knowledge of CAD system (Autodesk Inventor or other).
  • Basic knowledge of finite element simulation (Knowledge of ABAQUS software or other)
  • Fluency in French (oral and written) and functional basis in English (oral and written).
