Did you know that recognition plays an important role in employee retention? When employees feel that the company and its leaders appreciate and recognize their efforts at work, it can increase productivity, build loyalty and promote happiness.

However, implementing a viable recognition program that respects the company's culture does not come without challenges. Added to this is the exceptional situation we are currently experiencing due to the COVID-19 pandemic. So today, we present you how Soucy Techno has succeeded in adapting its recognition activities despite the current health crisis.

Refreshing Snacks

Traditionally, during June, Soucy Techno holds a BBQ activity with all its employees to celebrate the beginning of summer and the accomplishments of each team. This year, due to COVID-19, the company, unfortunately, had to give up one of its traditional events because of the health regulations in effect (limits on gatherings, physical distancing, etc.).

However, the very warm and sunny weather in June and July has inspired the company to call upon a gourmet activity with, shall we say, a more refreshing twist. An ice-cream vendor came to visit the 200 employees to offer them an original ice cream experience that also respected the health measures in place.

The sun was shining, and everyone was able to enjoy the sun’s rays, chat with colleagues and share a pleasant moment outside.

The health and safety of employees are essential at all times

In July 2020, the Government of Quebec made it mandatory for anyone aged 12 and over to wear a mask or a face covering in enclosed or partially covered public spaces in order to curb the COVID-19 pandemic.

Why not take advantage of this opportunity to strengthen the company's positioning towards health and safety? In addition to consolidating its commitment to the health and safety of its employees both inside and outside its facilities, Soucy Techno has also given its staff a hand in rallying to government requirements when they frequent public places. By wearing the face covering we gave them, employees ensure their own health and safety, the health and safety of others and promote the company's image - three birds with one stone!

These examples illustrate how Soucy Techno has managed to highlight the work and commitment of its employees despite a particular context with many constraints. A hint of creativity, combined with a good dose of motivation, shows that in any situation, there are opportunities to be seized and positive things to bring out... and to remember!
