10 conseils de nos employés pour être motivé et efficace en télétravail

With the COVID-19 physical distancing measures, most of our employees are now working remotely. Although flexible hours and teleworking once a week were already common practice at Soucy, the majority of our employees are now working at home full-time until the situation returns to normal.

Even though working remotely has a lot of benefits, many employees have had to adapt to this new reality! In this blog post, our employees will give you tips on how to stay motivated and productive while working from home.

Tip #1: Plan Your Work Schedule

To establish a new routine at home, choose the time slots where you will be available. Since working off-site allows a certain flexibility, you can adapt your schedule to your situation. For example, many employees at Soucy start their day earlier to free up time in the afternoon with their children.

Tip #2: Take Breaks During Your Day

Just as you would normally do at the office, take 15-minute breaks. These short breaks help clear your mind and split your day into work blocks. Make the most of it by stretching!

Tip #3: Keep Your Fitness Routine

If you were training before the pandemic, keep your fitness routine! Exercise is a great way to relieve stress. It will also help you maintain your healthy habits.

Tip #4: Make your to-do list at the beginning of the day

As you begin your day or week, make a list of all the tasks you have to do. This will help you better organize your projects according to deadlines and priorities. And it’s always rewarding to check things off the list!

Tip #5: Dress as Usual

Many of our employees said that dressing professionally helps them stay motivated. But if you only swear by pajamas and slippers when you’re teleworking, this advice is not for you. Go with what you like best!

Tip #6: Listen to Some Music

When you’re working from home, you no longer have to be afraid to disturb your colleagues with your music. You can play it as loud as you want! Many employees have told us that listening to music allows them to concentrate more.

Tip #7: Get Some Fresh Air

Whether it is during your breaks or your work sessions, don’t hesitate to get some fresh air. A few of our employees have given us the idea of setting up our desks on the patio on sunny days. This way, you will remain productive while enjoying good weather!

Tip #8: Grab Some Snacks

In addition to filling your cravings, making snacks allows you to take a break. One of our employees even gave us her ultimate trick for celebrating the progress of her to-do list: rewarding herself with a hot chocolate!

Tip #9: Communicate Frequently with Your Colleagues

To break the isolation of working at home, don’t hesitate to call your colleagues during your day. It is even more important to socialize when working remotely. Our human resources department organizes virtual happy hours to allow teams to keep in touch despite the confinement!

Another tip to be effective while teleworking is to increase the frequency of follow-up meetings. When we work remotely, we sometimes lose sight of our department’s projects. At Soucy, many employees continue the agile meetings virtually with their team.

Tip #10: Set Up Your Workspace

Our employees also suggest that you design your workspace at home. If possible, set up your office in a bright room near a window. Also, remember to follow the ergonomic tips to work comfortably! And don’t hesitate to decorate your office as you wish, after all, you are at home.

By following those advices, you will remain motivated even when working from home. If you are looking for a position that will allow you to telework and put these tips into practice, consult the available jobs at Soucy!
